In the first panel, Lem is speaking from off-panel. He says, "But, I'll leave it to him to explain all that. I got the impression he wishes to tell you himself."

In the second panel, Fern looks depressed as he puts some toast with jam into his mouth. He says, "So...I have to talk to him again, huh." Lem responds from off-panel, "You don't HAVE to do anything."

In the third panel, Lem is seen exhaling a big cloud of smoke from his cigarette. He says, "I guess I should talk about that next. We talked about rights because of your case. You know, like the right to privacy?"

In the fourth panel, we see an image of Cal. He's colored blue and sideways, staring creepily. He is not actually here, but his presence is now looming over the conversation. Lem says from off-panel, "The nature of our magic allows elementals to read the minds of other people."

In the fifth panel, Lem continues speaking from off-panel. "One of the facets to Cal being a dick...he never saw fit to do the ethical thing & knock that off. Unless you protect yourself, he'd read your mind & use it against you."

In the sixth & last panel, Fern looks upset and dizzy, his lips trembling. He says, "You're telling me he was reading my thoughts the whole time I was with him?"

Lem responds, "Yup."
