In the first panel, Lem is standing up from the table. The roof of Garadian's little hut is seen above him, with herbs hanging down to dry. He says, "If you've had enough to eat, I'll show you something that will help with the whole issue of privacy." He says in a smaller bubble, "There are other methods, but this is a good baseline."

In the second panel, they have gone outside, to look at some plants we saw earlier when Lem was walking home. They look like small pine tree bushes, with purple blotches among their green shrubbery. Lem says, "I designed this herb I'm growing out here with an express purpose. You can ingest it and it will prevent your thoughts and memories from being read by other elementals. I usually smoke it."

In the third panel, Fern is holding a cigarette of the herb and looking at it thoughtfully. Fern says, "Oh. So that's why you smoke so much." Lem says, "Yea, and May too. It's not great for certain thins...But it's better than nothing."

In the fourth panel, Fern puts the cigarette to his lips and inhales.

In the fifth panel, Fern lets out a big cloud of smoke as he hacks and coughs. Lem, looking disconcerted and maybe trying to hold back a laugh, says, "You maybe inhaled a bit too much there."
