In the first panel, Cal is seen carrying a bucket in each hand, with two lorriams following him through the yard. His diary continues, "I tend to the lorriams first thing."

In the second panel, Cal is seen milking one of the lorriams while the other looks on. Both of the lorriams are munching hay. Cal's diary says, "Collect the milk."

"Then I eat my breakfast in the kitchen," the diary reads in the third panel, where Cal is eating a small breakfast of eggs and sausage while a melcey looks on. Rae and May are talking in the background as Rae ties an apron on. May is smiling.

In the last and fourth panel, Cal is seen looking fearfully up a steep and narrow stairway. His diary reads, "By 6 am I head to work in the attic."
