Grayling page 0818 Transcription

In the first panel, we see Lem and Cal going upstairs to the attic. Cal's diary reads, "Then, Lem and I went upstairs to work." Lem is slightly smiling and reading his magazine and holding onto the bannister with his other hand. Cal is ahead of him and we only see him from the waist down, orange light shining on his legs from the direction of the room upstairs.

In the second panel, Cal stares towards the right, looking strangely blank and empty. He says, "I tried those dyes. I actually got an image. But I'm not sure what I'm looking at."

In the third panel, Cal's diary reads, "I didn't understand why I couldn't talk about the dream with Lem." Lem is seen in profile facing right, still absorbed in his magazine. Lem responds to Cal, "Hmm, that's great progress though."

In the last, fourth panel, Cal is also in profile, getting increasingly angry, his mouth downturned in a pout and his eyebrows furrowing. His diary reads, "I hate censoring myself. I want to say what's on my mind."
