Grayling page 0824 Transcription

In the first panel, Lem looks put off and full of fear, his eyes bugging out slightly. Cal continues to ramble to him, "It's no wonder my family doesn't care about me when I can't stop opening my big mouth and talking about the pain."

In the second panel, Cal looks weepy and red-faced, his eyes downcast and melancholy. He blubbers, "I'm sorry for being such a terrible parent. Maybe you'll understand someday, when your children abandon you like you abandoned me."

In the third panel, Cal looks down, sparkling tears falling from his face and dramatically catching the light. Cal says, "I did my very best for you children. But...."

Lem looks like he's gonna lose his mind in the fourth panel, his lips trembling, his eyes dark and turning red. "Cal. Please. Don't."

In the last panel, we see Cal and Lem from above, Cal opening his arms and looming closer to Lem, who stands stiff as a board. Cal says, "Remember what our lives used to be like? Or have we all forgotten the good times?
