Grayling page 0828 Transcription

In the first panel, Cal's diary starts up again. It reads, "Lem always had this ability to heal others by touching them." Cal speaks to Lem in real time, his lips still curled in a triumphant and sadistic smile. "Finally, ugh. You made me work for that one." The diary continues, "He touches you and bam, no pain, no sadness, you're good as new! In the old days, he'd heal me all the time! But for some reason he stopped." In real time, Cal says, "How long has it been?"

In the second panel, we have a closeup of Lem's anguished face as he stares down at the floor, his eyes wide with horror and tears streaming down his face. Cal's diary reads, "It's him or me. Does anyone really expect me to choose him over myself?"

Speaking in real time in the last and third panel, Cal looks irritated, saying, "Oh, stop blubbering. It's embarrassing. You were always a sore loser." Cal's diary reads, "Now, I'm neurotypical and won't have any trouble doing my job. They'll probably have to let me out of here in a couple days."
