Grayling page 0842 Transcription

In the first panel, we see the air around the fire, the warm colors mixing with the snow and the dark blue and purples of the winter evening.

In the second panel, we cut back to May's house. We see the roof and chimney, and the dark woods beyond. The snow isn't sticking here yet, either, but the wind is carrying flakes around. May says, "Cal, you're staying in your room the rest of the day." "Fine," says Cal. "Punish me, browbeat me, whatever."

In the third panel, May and Cal are back in Cal's bedroom, May standing next to the door as Cal walks deeper into the room, his back to her. He says, "I'm used to your ill treatment. Far be it for me to object! You are all SO small minded. You act like mortals half the time. It's a wonder I get anything done at all...." His eyes are closed as he rants, and he pretentiously gestures with his left hand.

May just stares disapprovingly at him in the fourth panel, not saying a word.

Cal continues rambling in response to her silence in the fifth & last panel, saying, "I don't feel bad, if that's what you're trying to do. Why? It didn't hurt him! He's fine!"
