Grayling page 0850 Transcription

In the first panel, we see a figure coming out of the snow towards Rae and Lem. We can't tell who it is.

In the second panel, Rae hides behind Lem, his puffed tail visible to the right and his worried face to the left, his hand clenched on Lem's shoulder. Lem looks unperturbed, holding his burning cigarette in his right mitten.

The figure speaks in the third panel. "We have to stop meeting like this."

Rae is completely losing it in the fourth panel, clinging to Lem and stuttering, "Lem, wh-what is it?!" Lem's face is contorted in a suppressed smile as he tries not to bust out laughing.

In the fifth panel, the figure removes their hood, snow plopping off their head and shoulders.

It is, of course, revealed to just be May in a hooded coat in the sixth panel. She also looks like she's holding back laughter as she says, "Rae, it's me."

The three siblings stand together in the snow in the seventh panel, Lem calmly smoking as Rae waves his hand at May. "You looked different..." Rae says. "There was a thing eating your head...." "It's called a hood, buddy," says May. "Tricked by clothes again....?" Rae says. "Why are there SO MANY clothes?"

In the last and eighth panel, May looks serious again, explaining why she's out here. "I got worried because of the snow. Visibility is dropping fast. Let's get back to the house."
